Jack-O-Lantern Candy Box

I am super excited about Halloween, but I need a bag to go trick or treating. So I decided to make this Jack-O-Lantern Candy Box because I  💛  L-O-V-E Jack-O-Lanterns!!!

Here is how you can make your very own!

First, you need 4 equal cardboard squares, one that's a little bigger and one that is long and skinny for a handle. You will also need a hot glue gun, a black sharpie, scissors and an orange crayola. You can find cardboard at the recycling center or maybe you can use the box your Halloween costume came in. Make sure at least one side of the cardboard is clear of markings before you use them.

Glue all the squares together but not the bottom!

Now, take the fifth piece of cardboard and trace around the bottom of the box so it will fit on the box.

Cut it out along the lines.

Start gluing it down. Make sure the glue dries before doing the handle next.

Now take the long skinny piece of cardboard and glue it down. To make it look prettier you can glue it to the inside of the box, but you can also glue it on the outside to make the handle a little wider. I decided to glue it on the inside to make it neater.

Now color all the sides. You can color the stem green if you want like a stem, orange like the rest of the box or just leave it blank like I did. You don't have to use a crayon. You could use paint or markers or pencils if you want.

Next, draw the eyes, nose and mouth. You don't have to do it like I did. You can make it friendlier or spookier. You can change the shapes of all the face or you can just copy off of me.

You can also write your name on the top in case someone else makes a Jack-O-Lantern Candy Box like yours.
