Birthdays

So, yesterday was my birthday (I'm 12 years old now) and I had a lemon blueberry cake for my birthday, I helped my mom make it. Anyways, I wrote a poem for everyone about birthdays, so, here it is:

Birthdays come once a year

Always moving forward and never back

If only we could go back, and that's the fear

Every year your age piles on like a stack

The years go by so fast

Before you know it your already grown

And still you can never go to the past

Now you're 18 and on your own

The years go by and you're getting older

But it seems the past is going far away

 and all those memories are getting colder

Now you're birthday is back again, today

Now you are sure that you can never go back

And that birthdays come once a year
